Why You Should Stay at the Brass Lantern This Summer

Summer is right around the corner and there is no better basecamp for your Vermont vacation than the Brass Lantern Inn, our award winning family-run bed and breakfast inn located in an 1810’s farmhouse, a Select Registry property!

Here are the top five reasons you should book with us for a summer getaway:

  • Hospitality with a Personal Touch. When you visit the Brass Lantern, you are personally welcomed by the owner, and we are available on site for any needs you might have. We can suggest restaurants, activities and experiences to enjoy no matter the weather or your tastes. If you have a need of something, just ask! And if something doesn’t meet your expectations, we are just a text away to set things right. You rarely can get personal service like that at a large hotel or an AirBNB! We’re here to ensure your stay in Vermont is a wonderful one, and we’ll work hard to make sure it’s a memorable for you and whoever you may be traveling with.
  • Comfort and Relaxation in Style. When you stay at the Brass Lantern, you are surrounded by art and unique design you won’t find anywhere else, along with one of the best mountain views in Stowe! And, while some lodging establishments are just places to lay your head, the Brass Lantern is an ideal place to relax by itself. Play badminton on the back lawn, visit with the chickens and ducks, gather at the fire pit or on the porch during sunset, or play games of all sorts on our digital game table. After a long day outside, unwind in the hot tub while sipping on a Vermont craft beer or cider, read a book in any one of our many special nooks, or sit outside and enjoy the view of Mt. Mansfield, the tallest mountain in Vermont, and the glorious night sky.
  • Food with Flair. Enjoy our Select Registry Best Breakfast Award-nominated breakfasts, that incorporate farm fresh eggs and local products, like our breakfast grilled cheese with Cabot Cheddar, locally grown apples and cherry jam, French Toast like no other and our made to order Breakfast BLT+Egg. Enjoy an evening snack with a cup of our amazing Tchibo brewed coffee with beans from Vermont Artisan Coffee. And, as our guest, you will get special treatment at our sister properties! Michael’s on the Hill will take you on a fine dining, farm-to-table adventure, located just 8 miles from the Brass Lantern. New this year, enjoy a wine tasting and a bite at Michael’s on the Mountain, where as our guest you can get a personalized wine tasting. Located in the Red Barn Shops right off the Rec Path, its the perfect place to beat the heat on a summer afternoon.
  • Butterscotch and Other Critters. Your stay at the Brass Lantern will inevitably include an interaction (if you want it!) with the one and only Butterscotch, our adorable two-year-old Golden Retriever. Raven, our shih tzu, also loves to say hello, and the chickens and ducks are ready to amuse you with their antics. Need some pup time? Just ask, and they’ll be happy to come out and get some love! Our animals are all a part of our family, and we hope they help make your stay with us even more comfortable and homey!
  • Craft Lodging at Stowe’s Only Select Registry Property. The Brass Lantern Inn is honored to have been inducted at the start of 2024 into the Select Registry. The Select Registry sets the gold standard in Craft Lodging—an independent lodging category defined by authentic accommodations, meaningful connection to place and people, and unique experiences, often recommended by knowledgeable innkeepers. As part of this curated portfolio of quality-assured bed and breakfasts, inns, and boutique hotels providing travelers with unique Craft Lodging experiences across North America. As our guest, you also get to participate in the Select Rewards program which will give you $100 towards a stay after 12 nights at any Select Registry property, and any month you submit nights you are entered into a drawing for a $100 certificate as well. We are also excited to continue to evolve our lodging experience for you, as we are hoping to announce new experiential packages and room updates to come in the next year!

As a small family owned business, we hope that we can offer you something different than the larger hotels on the Mountain Road, providing a thoughtfully curated unique lodging experience in our historic inn that will leave you with memories for a lifetime and a hope to come back again. We look forward to seeing you for the first time and for years to come!
